Arrange for “quiet time” during your speech at location

When you need to give a speech at a bar or restaurant, it will be difficult to be heard when the music continues to play or others continue to speak. Therefore you should arrange for some “quiet time”. Seek with the organization of the bar, restaurant, location, if they can turn off the music for 3 minutes when you give a speech. If there are other guest in the restaurant, you may want to ask if they could be quiet for 3 minutes when you speech. Normally people don’t mind and will do so. The will probably also listen to what you have to say (most people are curious) and will also applaud at the end of your speech. This does imply that you need to ensure, as always, that your speech is engaging and “short and sweet”.
