Study has shown that your audience will follow what you are looking at or point at. Do you point at something on your presentation slide? Your audience will look at that. Do you look at something in the room or outside the room? Your audience will follow your eyes and will also look at that. Knowing this can be helpful in directing the attention of your audience. You now also know that there is a risk related to this. If you are not fully concentrated during your presentation and for example start looking at something outside the window of the room your audience will likely follow that and will also start looking outside the window.
Take advantage of the knowledge that your audience will look at what you are looking at and pointing to. Use this to direct the attention of your audience.
