If you have handouts, brochures, information page or any other documents to give to your audience, think carefully about the timing of when you need to give this to your audience. Bad timing is when the handout is being given during your presentation on a moment when your audience need to listen to you.
When documents are being distributed to your audience it will always create turmoil in the room. People start paying attention to when they need to get and hand over the document and when to hand it over to someone next to them. They will start reading it and transferring of documents will make noise. Therefore ensure that you will control the transfer of documents and decide what makes sense in terms of timing. For example for some type of documents it may be good to hand out before you start your presentation, other documents during a break or after your presentation.
