How best to use an animation on your presentation slide?

It may be quite powerful to use an animation on a presentation slide that you are using. Simple, but also sophisticated animation can be made in for example MS PowerPoint®. Adding an animation to a slide can for example work very well to explain a trend, movement situation before & after. It does not always have to be serious, an animation can also be used to add some humour to your presentation.

Animations can be set to run in a loop so you would continuously see the animation over an over again. You can also have an animation just run once (either automatically or when you click on your wireless pointer). It is even possible to run the animation for a specific selected number of times based on the presentation settings).

There is however a big caveat in regards to using animations on a presentation slide: Don’t overdo it. Too many animations on you slide will make it look disorganized and cluttered. Make sure that the animations follow the “style and feel” of your presentation. Adding an animation that you found on the internet that is not in line with the high quality of the rest of your presentation is not a good idea (also consider copyrights).
