Making an impactful reference to your website during your presentation

Sometimes you see presenters making a reference to their website at the end of their presentation. This makes sense, but how many people will then actually go to the website? Making a general reference to your website “for more information” is not that impactful. It will be more impactful if you have something on your website that is specifically useful for your audience as it relates to your presentation.

Make your audience feel special by adding something specific for them on your website. This is easily done by adding a sub-page to your site. If your general website address is www.nameofyourwebsite.com you can add a sub-page for your audience that is easy to remember. For example have a subpage with the location of your presentation: www.nameofyourwebsite.com/NewYork.

There are various documents that you can make available for your audience. As the slides are for presenting, it is recommended not just putting the full set of presentation slides on this subpage of your website. You could for example include:
• A guide with top 10 tips in relation to your presentation
• A video in which you explain …
• A flowchart showing … in relation to your presentation

• A reference card with useful information in relation to your presentation
• A document with a summary of top 3 books to read in relation to your presentation

When you have something like this on a subpage of your website you can indicate to your audience that they can find more general information about your presentation and about you on your website www.nameofyourwebsite.com and that specifically for this audience you created <document xyz> which they can find on a dedicated section of your website www.nameofyourwebsite.com/Location. By means of this you will make your audience feel special and you will lure more members of your audience to your website.
