Connecting the dots for your presentation

One of the themes that you can use for your presentation is “connecting the dots”. You can for example describe each event that occurred in the past as a dot and connecting them during your presentation to show a pattern to your audience and also show the way forward. Connecting is also known as a form of puzzle containing a sequence of numbered dots. When a line is drawn connecting the dots the outline of an object is revealed.

Use this analogy to describe the storyline for your presentation. Use pictures on your presentation slide deck in the form of connecting the dots. It will create a nice theme that will make your audience curious about what will be revealed and they will think along with you to connect the dots. With presentation software such as MS PowerPoint ®, you have the option to transition between the slides by using the “Push” function. This means that the next slide will push the current slide away. You can use this function to have a line shown over multiple slides that is connecting the dots. Put a word, icon or picture next to each dot and you can use the fully animated “connecting the dots” slide to support your presentation.
