Do you need to be yourself on stage or do you need to act to be better than you are in reality? Well, you need to be true to yourself but it is ok to display your “presentation-personality” on stage. Your gestures need to be a bit bigger on stage, your voice louder and your passion needs to be even greater displayed on stage. It needs to be true to yourself, but what you do on stage is a bit exaggerated compared to what you would do when you are not on stage (for example in a one-on-one conversation). You will recognize that you will get your message across more effectively if you exaggerate yourself a little.
There is a fine balance to what is acceptable and what is not when you do this. Practice and listening to feedback will help to support creating your “presentation-personality”.
Don’t pretend to be someone else on stage. Display your own “presentation-personality” on stage to bring across your messing to your audience in an effective manner. Read more tips and tricks about how to do this in the book that should be part of your own Public Speaking Kit.
