Visualize location by movement on stage

When you have to talk about different locations during your presentation in front of an audience, you may want to highlight the different locations by also moving your position on the stage. Take a couple of steps aside when you change talking about one location to the next. The movement will add the effect to your presentation that it is really clear that it is about a physical different location. Remember that when a new location is on the right of the previous location, you will have to move left on the stage (mirror effect for your audience).

If you have a list of locations, for example countries, you can move to a different spot on the stage in front of your audience also. For example you have to say: “This new process will be implemented in the USA, France, Germany, Canada and Australia”. If you take a couple of steps each time before you mention each new country it does add a nice visual effect to your presentation. However, it will also look funny, so you will get some laughs from your audience. If this is an effect (to add a bit of humour) to your presentation, that you are looking for, you may want to do this during your presentation.

Visualization can also be enhanced by showing pictures of different locations. The book that is part of the Public Speaking Kit, comes with some selected beautiful high quality pictures from different locations that you can use during your presentation. This bonus material can be downloaded from our website and is available for a limited period of time.
