When you present in front of an audience it is good to put your story in the right perspective. Frame your story. When you want to engage your audience you can bring them along a journey. When you frame your story you need to think about a good beginning from which you can take your audience and a point that you want them to bring towards. It is a good idea to start your
story with something that your audience can relate to. By means of this it is easy for your audience to get on board and you can take them on a journey towards the end. The end may include a new point / perspective / action item / key takeaway.
In a successful presentation, you take your audience along the journey and afterwards a miracle happened as they see the world a bit differently, go do something, learned something and/or will take certain actions.
By framing your story correctly you can have your audience focus on what matters most. If your presentation for an audience failed it is in a lot of cases because it wasn’t framed correctly: you misjudged the level of interest of your audience / didn’t tell a story to take your audience along a journey.
