What to do if the quality of your presentation relies on the input from your audience?

There are situations where the quality of your presentation session really depends on the input of your audience. How can you make sure that you get this input? If you act as moderator of the discussion and you rely on the input of your audience it is important that you get the right input. For this you will need to set the right tone from the start.

There are a lot of interesting tips and tricks that you can apply to create an interactive presentation. This is also the reason why there is a separate chapter in the book Public Speaking Excellence that covers interactive presentations.

At the beginning of your presentation you want to set the right tone. You can support this with a presentation slide. For example you can tell your audience “What you put into this session is what you will get out of it”. You can enforce this message with a presentation slide, just simply indicating “Sharing = Caring”. Getting it right from the start is an important success factor for your presentation that will rely on the input from your audience.
