To help your audience to keep track of where you are going during your presentation you can use “sign-posts” to move from topic to topic. You can memorize some of these “sign-posts” words to use
during your presentation.
“Move on” when you want to make your next point.
“Turn to” when you want to chance to a completely different topic.
“Elaborate” or “expand” when you want to provide more details about a topic.
“Go back” when you want to refer back to an earlier point or topic.
“Summarize” when you want to give an outline of a point.
“Recap” when you want to repeat the main points of your presentation.
“Conclude” when you want to present your final remarks.
For example for your final remarks you can say: “I would like to conclude by quoting Einstein: If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”.
